What Yoga Means to Me and Why I Practice
Yoga is a Sanskrit word that translates to union. To me yoga is harmony and a system and practice of connecting to our very aliveness and wholeness. It brings us back to our truest nature, which is balance and unity with all things.
Yoga teaches us to remember who we are and that we already hold all of the potential for growth and expansion just by being here.
I practice yoga to ground and find presence in my body where I can explore the layers of my being. I am in deep awe of the journey of the human experience and find that yoga provides me with the tools needed to move through this experience with more ease as it supports me in all areas of wellness. In the early years of my practice, yoga helped me learn how to feel good when most of the time I felt depressed and numb. As my practice and journey evolved I became fascinated with yoga philosophy and was reminded of why I am here, to connect-with myself and all beings and exist in a state of bliss. Now I practice yoga not just to feel good, but to feel present and aligned with what matters most to me.
