The Beauty That is Calling to Us

"Maybe the desire to make something beautiful
is the piece of God that is inside each of us."
-Mary Oliver

Hello Community🧡

In my classes this month we're exploring the theme, finding and creating beauty

Slowing down enough to open our senses. Being with that which we find precious and pleasurable and promising.

Being with all that's exquisite about creation and our own creative process, our own becoming.

This is such a gift to ourselves and our grieving world because beauty can be a profound resource for healing, liberation, and resilience.

A wellspring to tap into that only requires our body and our senses. And a little bit of opening and receptivity.

So I wanted to share some of the ways I've been resourcing myself in beauty and perhaps they'll feel supportive for you too.

Here's what I've been listening to, practicing, and tending.

1. Listening To:

✨ The Inner Landscape of Beauty - The On Being Podcast
with John O'Donahue

This episode invites us to reflect on beauty as a human calling. It's pure medicine. Click here to listen

2. Practicing:

✨ Looking for Signs of Spring

On my walks I've been attuning to light, color, regeneration and new life emerging.

This practice helps me open up to the expansive beauty around me, that which is seen and unseen.

The wisdom of spring comes alive in my body. My own rhythm of creation. Stirring. Pulsing. And I feel the vibrations of beauty that want to manifest through me.

I invite you to walk through your neighborhood or local park and see if you can notice any signs of spring, even if they're subtle (for those living in colder climates) - like tiny, bright green buds, peaks of yellow, changes in light, the presence of dancing bees or butterflies. And listen to how your body feels as you observe these changes around you. Notice if any messages speak through your body and senses - feelings, phrases or words, archetypes, ideas or inspiration.

3. Tending:

✨ I've been dreaming up and curating some really beautiful communal experiences ya'll. And I'm so happy to share that I'm hosting a retreat in Sedona this June with my beloved friend and musician, Kristina Bennett.
